Staff Liaison: Ted McIntire Board of Selectmen Liaison: Gail Wood 1. Call to order at 7:4016ary Ellen Becker appointed as recorder. February minutes were not available. 2. Bob Brown gave an overview of Solid Waste management in Reading. 3. Ted's report: a. Compost site hours are set for the upcoming season. Opening.day is Fri., April 2. Hours in April and May are Fri. & Sat from 88--5~ Hours in June thru Sept are Sat $-5 af /,k nd Mon 8:3,0-12.. 1~N 4-kt M b. Hazardous waste collection will occur in Reading on May 22, 2004 at the D.P.W. 4. Old Business: a. Reading Fair - Motion to continue Fair subcommittee thru May 22 was made and seconded. Motion carried unanimously. Sub committee for Fair (Susan, Bob, Greg and Lois) agreed to meet and discuss the particulars for participation. A report will be presented at the next meeting b. Committee focus - Several ideas were put forward as ideas for committee focus. (1.Recycling in schools 2.Business recycling 3.lncrease in resident recycling, 4. Revision of rubbish rules and regulations) Ted will provide info on rules and regulations. Business recycling should be studied and prepared for the contract negotiations in'05. All the ideas were deemed to have merit and discussion will continue at next meeting. Appropriate information will be in the packet next month. 5. New Business: See agenda for the upcoming meetings. A question was asked about member's terms. Check the web site for current information. Greg presented a statement that he had worked on for the Recreational Outreach Activities subcommittee. Members were asked to review and submit any proposed changes. Discussion was proposed for next meeting. 6. Next meeting - April 28, 2004. 7.
