Schettini, Jr.-Superintendent of Schools Mary DeLai-Director of Human Resource and Finances John Doherty, Assistant Superintendent of Schools 1. Call to Order School Committee Chair, Ms. Lisa Gibbs called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. and read the mission statement of the Reading Public Schools. IIA. Bills and Payroll Signed as required. IIB. Citizen's Input None IIC. Gifts None IID. Reports: Chairperson and School Committee Members • Mr. Caruso commented positively on the new little league field. TIE. Reports: Superintendent 0 Superintendent Schettini addressed the recent rash of vandalism around the schools. III. Approval of Field Trips Superintendent Schettini presented the information on two field trips: RMHS and Coolidge Middle School Field Trips to the National History Day National competition in Washington, D.C. The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs. Janowski, to approve the Reading Memorial High School National History Day field trip as outlined in the Superintendent's memorandum dated April 18, 2008. Motion carries 5-0. April 28, 2008 The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs. Janowski, to approve the Coolidge Middle School's National History Day field trip as outlined in the Superintendent's memorandum dated April 18, 2008. Motion carries 5-0. There was discussion in preparation for the Town Meeting. V. Personnel No items this evening. VI. Liaison Appointment The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mr. Robinson to appoint Karen Janowski as the Reading School Committee representative to the Human Relations Advisory Committee. Motion carries 5-0. VIII. Approval of Minutes None IX. Motion to Adjourn The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso. seconded by Mr. Robinson to adjourn. Motion approved 5-0.
