L Call to Order
Chairperson Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He welcomed the guests that
attended the meeting. He also reviewed the agenda.
II. Recommended Procedure
A. Public Input (1)
1. Geoffrey Coram, Birch Meadow parent, inquired as to the School Committee's website
and asked if information could be kept more current including contact information and
meeting minutes
B. Reports (1)
1. Student
• Mr. Jesse Downing introduced Mr. Patrick O'Sullivan and provided some
background information on him; Mr. O'Sullivan was welcomed to his new role.
2. Liaison
• Commendation letter for Ms. DeLai
• Mrs. Gibbs highlighted the great success of the recent Blue Ribbon Institute
3. Superintendent's Report
• Superintendent Schettini discussed the following
1. Superintendent Schettini discussed the field trips last week to Costa Rica,
China, Italy, and Nature's Classroom.
2. The donation that Winchester Hospital gave the district.
3. The AASA Advocacy Legislative Conference that he attended last week in
Washington D.C. He discussed presentations by Arne Duncan and Roberto
Rodriquez about the ARRA funding and the true intent of the funding. He
also discussed the Federal DOE Innovation grants.

3. Personnel Reorganization
Superintendent Schettini presented a personnel reorganization plan which included the new
positions of Team Chairperson, Director of Finance and Operations and Human Resources
Administrator.
The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs Gibbs, to authorize the
Superintendent to create the position of Team Chairperson as an Administrative position
as outlined in the Superintendent's memorandum dated April 23, 2009 Motion passes 6-0
The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs Gibbs, to authorize the
Superintendent to recreate the position of Director of HR and Finance to the position of
Director of Finance and Operations as outlined in the Superintendent's memorandum
dated April 16, 2009. Motion passes 6-0.
The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs Gibbs, to authorize the
_Superintendent to create the position of Human Resources Administrator as outlined in the
Superintendent's memorandum dated April 16, 2009. Motion carries 6-0

2. Approval of Minutes
The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs Gibbs, to approve the
open session minutes of April 6, 2009 as amended. Motion carries 6-0-0

The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs Gibbs, to adjourn
Motion carries 6-0-0.
