Commissioners: Mses. Kearns and O'Neill
RMLD Staff: Messrs. Cameron, Fournier, Uvanni, Cussen
Mses. Antonio, Gottwald, and Maillett
Ms. Kearns called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. and asked Mr. Cameron to update the committee on
the website activities. Mr. Cameron reported that the RMLD is in the process of updating the RMLD
website and that Mr. Uvanni. Manager of Information Systems (MIS) would be providing the committee
the update.
Mr. Uvamli explained that the Town of Reading has recently updated their website and contracted with
Virtual Town Hall, a website design and hosting company located in Portland, Maine. Mr. Uvamli pointed
out that Virtual Town Hall hosted many of the municipal websites. Mr. Uvamli said that not only will they
host the website but their security levels are very high, similar to the RMLD's. Mr. Uvaiuzi then went on to
describe the capabilities of the RMLD's website and new amenities that the RMLD wants to include in the
new website.
Ms. Kearns said that she would like to see a link to Green Power and energy conservation information that is
easy to access. Ms. Kearns also said that she would like to see a link that would bring you to a page that
explains the RMLD's bills. Mr. Uvam-d pointed out that the RMLD currently has this feature but a more
visible link to this will be explored. Ms. Kearns also said that the website should have a link that gives the
reader information about the Board of Commissioners.
Ms. O'Neill asked how often the website is updated? Mr. Cameron replied that updates are done time to
time by different departments.
Ms. O'Neill requested that the front page have a clean look to it.
Ms. Kearns stated that the website should have information on the different departments within the RMLD
and links to NEPPA and APPA. Mr. Uvamli said that presently there are links to NEPPA and APPA.
Ms Kearns said that the RMLD might want to announce in the In Brief that the RMLD is updating its
website.
Ms. Kearns inquired about the RMLD's ability to take payments on line? Mr. Uvanr i replied that the RMLD
has had that capability for a while.
Ms. O'Neill asked what the timeline was for getting the website completed? Mr. Uvanni replied that it
should be completed by the end of January 2009 and should cost about $5,000. The ongoing costs will be
$200 a month for hosting.
Motion to Adjourn
At 9:28 a.m. Ms. O'Neill made a motion seconded by Ms. Kearns to adjourn the meeting.
