U 'I
The meeting was called to order and Mr. Cameron explained the spreadsheet the RMLDd put together
of the legal resources in eastern Massachusetts available to the RMLD.
The spreadsheet included the name and address of the firm, and the specific services each of the firms
offered, including general employee issues, arbitration, negotiation, trail attorneys, hourly rates and
comments.
The Subcommittee then asked who the RMLD used presently and what they tended to with respect to the
RMLD's needs.
Mr. Cameron explained that Rubin and Rudman were primarily used for power supply and other
technical issues. Choate, Hall and Stewart were used for employee and employment issues. Duncan and
Allen were located in Washington and were used for NEPOOL and ISO issues, which are mostly fought
at the FERC in Washington DC. Local legal issues (right of way, bankruptcies, etc.) are handled by Ray
Couture, who is located in Reading.
After discussion of how the RMLD has been represented in the past and Mr. Cameron's philosophy on
litigation the Subcommittee voted unanimously to keep the present legal structure in place, however, if a
legal situation arose that did not fit the categories discussed the GM should come to the RMLD Board and
discuss how he would attend the issue.
Mr. Pacino motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 AM. Soli seconded.
