MINUTES OF THE READING RETIREMENT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, April 24, 2007
The Reading Retirement Board held a regular session meeting on April 24, 2007, in The Lower Level Conference
Room, Town Hall, Reading, Massachusetts.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chairman Joseph Veno in the presence of members Gail
LaPointe, Richard Foley, Daniel Seferian, and Board Administrator, Colleen Loughlin. Board member Francis
Driscoll was not able to attend.
APPROVAL OF MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS
• RICHARD FOLEY moved to approve Joseph Veno as the Chairman.

Driscoll who was not present.

In August 2004, there was a change in the definition of a veteran. For the period Joseph served in the Navy,
November 11, 1977 to November 10, 1981, it appears that he now meets the definition of a veteran. To the
Board's knowledge, the member was not notified of the change in a timely fashion, therefore, the Board will
allow him to purchase his military service.

• An election was held on March 22, 2007 for the second member of the Reading Retirement Board. The
official results are as follows:
Joseph Veno 212 votes
Mark Dwyer 133 votes
Joseph Veno will continue as the second elected member for another term, which will run April 1, 2007 to
March 31, 2010.
• Discussed software & cost. The Board decided to schedule a meeting with Tyler Technologies and The
Pension Group for June 2007.

• Michael Reardon will not be attending the March 21, 2007 meeting. He would like to attend the April
meeting tentatively scheduled for April 25, 2007.
• Discussed general design of the website page for Retirement.
• Copies of the following Reading Retirement Board reports were handed out for review:
The PRIT fund's monthly statement & fund performance for period ending January 31, 2007
The PRIT fund's monthly statement & fund performance for period ending February 28,-2007.
The PRIT fund's calendar year to date statement & fund performance for period Jan. 1, 2006 to Dec. 31,
2006.
• 'On March 7, 2007 PERAC notified this Board that Andrea Fitzpatrick was evaluated for possible return to
service and PERAC's internal Nurse Case Manager determined that she is not able to perform the essential
duties of her job.
• Received PERAC's approval for the proposed supplementary regulations.
• Received copy of Warrant for the 2007 Annual Town Meeting.
• The next board meetings will be held on April 24, 2007, May 23, 2007, and June 27, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Lower Level Conference Room. Michael Reardon will be attending the April 24"' meeting.

The Reading Retirement Board held a regular session meeting on March 21, 2007, in The Lower Level
Conference Room, Town Hall, Reading, Massachusetts.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chairman Joseph Veno in the presence of members Gail
LaPointe, Richard Foley, Daniel Seferian, Francis Driscoll, and Board Administrator, Colleen Loughlin.
