Everyone is very pleased with the packet Paula and Anne Marie put together (see attached). Paula pointed out the
new information and changes in the packet. Change middle class seniors to middle income seniors. We need to
point out to the selectmen and at town Meeting that our nurse advocate will meet the needs of the chronically ill and
those who are not covered by insurance; filling in the gaps.
Paula will ask Dawn to find out what Winchester means by "units of service".
Lynn made a motion as follows: The nurse advocacy task force recommends that the nurse advocate be an employee
of the town of Reading under the Department of Elder Services. Marcia and Patty seconded. The motion
unanimously carried.
Anne Marie made a motion as follows: The task force recommends that an advisory board be established to oversee
the development of the nurse advocate program. Lynn and Carol seconded. The motion unanimously carried.
We need to come up with a dollar amount for one quarter (April through June) salary for the position. We also need
to check the figures for the cost of a cell phone.
The task force final report is the presentation to the Selectmen on December 5th. All members agreed to remain on
the task force until we present to Town Meeting in February.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30.
