The ED Forum turnout was very low but good data was gathered and the Red Sox won. In the last forum, "Putting It All Together," the will reconcile low turnouts and recommendations of those who did attend. The ED 1VIap generated from the results was reviewed; downtown and south Main were the emphasis. WF advocated for a recommendation for redevelopment around the HomeGoods site. HS wanted to prioritize for MAPC: they will focus on particular areas as dictated by results of the straw polls. Item 12 will be the focus, Items 4;5,6 will be combined. HOUSING FORUM HS will organize similar to the other forums. There will be a review of the existing data and trends.. Potential locations for different types of housing will be explored. Redevelopment of existing housing will be reviewed. Affordable housing is an emphasis but all income groups should be represented. Identified areas for housing development will be prioritized by asking "Can you live wid-i this?" Goal: where are housing development opportunities? Strategies for promoting development in priority area's will be identified and reviewed. HS reviewed available data and asked for input. The review of the housing data will include demographic snapshots and trends. Projections indicate less people but current housing demand will be maintained. GK commented: What went into the analysis in the way of techniques and regional context? Transportation links could be developed, e.g. subway out to Wakefield. A traffic analysis is needed to establish where the traffic is moving from the north and south parts of Town. How is everything interrelated? The forum should cover a variety of housing types. The effect of limited natural resources, e.g. water supply, should be factored in. Scheduling: Dates were identified for the Housing Forum: 1.12, 1.14,1.15, 1.26 Possible conflicts and attendees were discussed. Where: Senior Center The meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
