Meeting called to order 7:04 p.m.
Minutes approved unanimously as presented (Curtis/Storti)
Financial
• Year end status of expenditures reviewed
• Projected State Aid for next FY is $23,000 (a $10,000, or 33%, decrease from Fyip
Policy Issues e CD 71
• Internet Policy - updated policy, distributed for Trustee review
• Tutoring Policy - new policy written, distributed for Trustee reviewer ` F
Building Assessment ;j CC.'
• Overview: consideration of building condition and usage, evaluation of needed improwmertp 7-1-
N
• Planning for 5-10 year needs for continued use of current building and site; option to$uild new
facility; develop and price priority list of projects
• No funds for library projects in the FY2010 Capital Improvement budget
• Chimney and masonry repairs and window replacement unlikely to be funded FY2010 by Federal
Stimulus money
• NORESCO - Library audited for energy savings potential: consideration of energy cost savings
vs. customer service and usage needs. e.g. lighting fixtures; weather stripping; bathroom fixtures;
attic insulation
• Trustees discussed pros and cons of rehabilitation of current building vs new structure
• Develop long term recommendations for Finance Committee of plan and priorities (DH)
• Review short term assessment and list priority items to present to Town Meeting (eg envelope
issues) (VY, JD, KS)
• Communicate recommendations to Mary DeLai, School Business Manager, to initiate a proactive
discussion regarding library priorities (short term/long term) with Finance Committee (DH)
• Edit "Pros & Cons" chart and distribute to Trustees before next meeting (DH)
