Present: Robin D'Antona, School Committee designee; Terry Jones; Paul
KellPhil Maher, Board of Selectmen designee; Carol Roberts, Town of
Reading personnel; Sumi Sinnatamby, Margaret Soli; 1=
i . Minutes of previous meeting approved.
2. Reorganization voted to stay the same as current. Vote u to 0.
3. Standard questions proposed for interviewing town clergy. Three questions
developed to be written for review at Sep. 2001 meeting.
4. Terry Jones initiated discussion to put a questionnaire on the Reading web
site. Robin D'Antona to develop specific questions and Carol Roberts to
look into the technical process.
5. Goals were brought up again for further review and consensus. Paul Kelly
to arrange for a guest to address the committee in Sep.
b. Discussion of programs in schools "unity groups", assemblies etc.
7. Discussion was started on the Suggested Guidelines and Concepts
submitted by Phil Mailer. Respect for free speech #3 was opposed by some
members. Also #9 on education programs was questioned by some as
unnecessary.
8. Margaret Soli passed out articles dealing with violence for the group to
review and the meeting was adjourned.
Minutes by Phil Maher standing in for Emily Maughan, Secretary who was
absent.
