Meeting began at 7:35 PM. Those present were Ed Toland, Paul kaley , ^
Margaret Soli, Phil Maher, Jim Keigley and Carol Roberts.
1. Oct. 10, 02 minutes approved.

2. Letter from an Andrea from Arlington, inquiring about "climate in the
town with regard to gay people" discussed. Reading not considered by
committee to have any unusual problems in this regard. Margaret to
contact Andrea and discuss.
3. Information about the MAHRC The Massachusetts Association of
Human Rights & Human Relations Commissions presented in a memo
by Paul Kelley and discussed by Margaret Soli. The committee voted_ to
add the Reading HRAC to the groups Web site list.
4. Martin Luther King birthday breakfast in Reading discussed and
members encouraged to participate. Voted to have the Selectmen declare
the day officially.
5. Discussed a letter from David Chase representing an adult soccer
group wanting their case examined to play on Sunday mornings with less
restrictions. No particular discrimination noted unless unequal treatment
was extended to the group. Ed Toland noted possible problems with
religions that do not observe Sunday as their day of worship. Phil Maher
to write a reply and check it with Margaret before sending it along to the
group and the Selectmen.
6. Habitat For Humanity Reading project discussed considered a positive
direction for the town and encouraged.
7. Meeting adjourned at about 9 PM
