Wilbar Hoxie Louise Sandberg Joe Hagarty, reporter Chronicle Anne Krieg,Town planner 1. Called to order: 7:35. 2. Minutes approved as amended, 3. Returned $8.60 to the town from the general fund. 4. July 27th three members of the commission presented the conserved 1854 map to the town. The board of selectmen thanked the commission and felt it was a very appropriate use of the celebration trust. 5. Town Manager let the commission know about another alternative to a slate roof is available for the senior center. 6. 10 Pierce St. (Samuel Pierce Organ Factory) Denise Moynihan of Carter & Coleman represent a prospective owner who want to turn the property into a town house. The property is on the national register. Ms. Miller wants the town planner to come to us for advice. 7. The town. is intending to create a new stone wall at 55 Walnut St . 8. Across the street from the Pierce Organ factory is a brick commercial building. Arrow Direct wants to change the foot print of the building. 9. CPDC is in the design stage in planning a traffic light and curbing for the corner of Woburn and West street. 10. Virginia moved that Mark Cardono be appointed a member of theCelebration Trust Fund. Approved. 11. Library has started construction of their new entrance way. 12. Resident of 9 Mill St., North Reading wants to build a swimming pool. The property abuts the archaeological site. Virginia wants to send a copy of the plans to NRHC. The pool appears to be an above ground pool. 14. Virginia suggested we contact Kaminski to run another Antiques Appraisal Day. 15. Town planner came to talk about (a.) 10 Pierce St. We do not know what the new owner would intend to do with the property. The area is zoned for single family use and the building is quite large. (b.)The town got the grant for replacing the senior center roof, but there is no funding. (c.) The new owners will be able to close on the property at 379 Haverhill St. 16. Virginia has alerted the building inspector about the Pearl St. barn being eligible for the demolition delay bylaw. Even though the street number will be different, it will be the same original property. 17. There is a potential bylaw coming before the CPDC about mansionization. 18.
