Public hearing will be Tuesday, September 11.
Patrick Keohane attended our meeting. He is the new owner of the Station House
restaurant. He now has the deed restrictions (as does the building inspector). He says
he needs to paint the building very soon, before the cold weather. He wants to open a
restaurant with an Irish theme. Mr. Keohane would like to change the color. Virginia
read out other colors that B&M had used on their depots. Clay suggested a paint
expert to evaluate what was the early paint scheme. Virginia brought up a piece of the
gingerbread that was stored in the archives. Two members will help Mr. Keohane
decide on colors (Virginia and Louise).
1375 Main St. RHA does not want it. The owner of the Pearl St. barn does not want it.
The commission will continue to pursue finding someone who would be willing to
move the house to a new location. Clay suggested writing an article for the paper to
find an interested individual who would want to move the house.
107 Grove St.: The house was built in 1780 and they are willing to let us visit.
Louise sent along a copy of the minutes from the Reading Female Anti-Slavery Society
to a researcher at St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH.
