Archstone: The commission has not heard about our request for a peer review. The
next ZBA meeting is September 9. Clay will call John Jerema from the Board to find
what the agenda is.
Marilyn Fenollosa woman from the National Trust has been out to see the Pierce
Organ Factory concerning our application as an endangered property. Organ pipes
were seen on the property. We will know if it makes the list in November. Ms.
Fenollosa volunteered to come in and talk about issues and properties that we are
involved in. At that time whether it makes the list or not we will publicize the building.
320 Haverhill St. The Visiting Nurse Association is considering using the house as a
hospice. The association would be going for funding to the Hospital Trust Fund in
Reading. We are concerned with possible negative changes. Clay wants to contact a
trustee of the fund and then someone at the VNA.
CPDC meeting of Aug. 18. Suggested that we think of a name for the Archstone
Development. George Hynes wanted to have pictures of former selectmen for display
in their room.
Historic homestead for 420 Franklin was designated by Mass. Historical Sept. 11..
Residents of South Street want their street extended to the point where the road turns
right near 1-93 as a scenic way. We need to prepare the application and present it
before the November Town Meeting warrants are closed. The commission moved to
ask the CPDC to request Town Meeting to designate an extension of South Street as a
scenic road from its present terminus to the beginning of the curve just past Gleason
Road. One reason for this request is to include 2 historic houses on that street and their
environs which were left out on the earlier designation because there were no plans for
sidewalks. Approved: 4-0-0
37 Temple Street:
48-54 Ash Street considering demolishing part of the building. We will try to view the
house on Friday.
Historic Mass Inc Clay is talking at a Preservation meeting in New Bedford. TM is
talking Mass Historical meeting.
Treasurer's report: New receipts no bills.
