Reading Historical Commission Minutes READING, MASS.
20 September 2002

Call to order: 9:05 AM in the Berger Meeting.
We are setting up a trusteeship for the funds coming to us from Chelmsford Capital
Group as mitigation money proceeding from the demolition of the property of 1375
Main St.
Clay moved that the commission request town meeting to approve a warrant article
setting up a trust fund for preservation purposes now as the Reading Historical
Commission Preservation Trust Fund. Approved 4-0-0
Clay attended the meeting of the chairmen of the town boards. The Land fill project is
going ahead. Peer review from Archstone has been requested. Clay mentioned that
residents of the West Street area are interested in making their area an historic district.
Town Manager suggested that we ask Archstone help in the work to get the West St.
Historical District designation. Longwood Poultry farm is progressing. South St. and
Walnut St. Scenic road proposal will have a site visit on Sept. 28.
