Minutes March 11, 2003 b A = x Attending: Mark Cardono Sharlene Santo Virginia Adams Ingrid Krohn Sally List Pat Greichen Roberta: Sullivan Louise Sandberg Wilbar Hoxie Kendra Cooper, videotaping Called to order: 7:35 • The owners, Gary Nixon and Ingrid Krohn of the house at767 Main St. would like to see the property be included in the town inventory of historic places. Winthrop Parker designed the house for his sister, Marion Bent. The commission has visited the house. The house has its original architectural drawings. Wilbar made a motion to place the property at 767 Main St on the inventory of the town of Reading. Passed 4-0-0 • The restrictions for 320 Haverhill St. have been signed, but not recorded. • Treasurer's report. Received a donation of $10. William McLaughlin requested $18 for a program on moved houses. Roberta moved that we pay the bills. Approved 4-0-0 • Minutes of Nov. 22, 2002 and Feb. 4, 2003 approved as amended. There was a request from a member of Old South Church about grants for repairs on the building. The church would also like to put vinyl on the back of the church. They are in particular interested in possible monies available to the commission. • There was an enquiry from a custodian, Francis Connolly, at the high school very concerned that the town was going to tear down the old part of the high school building that was built in honor of Reading veterans. • Spence farm final hearing will be on March 13. If the commission has any interest in the buildings on the farm we should do so. They have reduced the units to 204. Roberta feels that we should at least document the building on site and hopefully get in to see them and suggested that we write a letter to that effect by Thursday. • The Council on Aging is trying to get funding to pay the salary of their director. Roberta was asked to find out the history of this organization. * 717 Pearl St.: The commission has copies of the potential preservat restriction agreement for the barn at 717 Pearl St. to examine.
