Wilbar Hoxie Sally Hilgendorff List Roberta Sullivan S. Call to order 7:30 PM r` Past Minutes Review: Review minutes from January 6, 2004 and December 06, 2003. Clay moved that the Commission accept the minutes from January 06, 2004. Wilbar seconded the motion. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. Clay moved that the Commission accept the minutes from December 06, 2004. Roberta seconded the motion. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. Treasurer's Report: Roberta reported the current finances for the Commission (see attached Treasurer's Report). Purchasing: Roberta is requesting filing cabinets for under the desks and a fireproof safe. The cabinets would cost approximately $100.00 - $200.00. She is also requesting hard copies of photos, which would cost approximately $50.00. A question was brought up on whether or not the cost of the photos should come from the Historic Trust. Clay moved that the Commission approve up to $200.00 for the purchase of filing cabinets. Wilbar seconded the motion. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. The Commission needs to purchase one laptop and one powerful desktop. The question was brought up about where the money would come from. Should the money come from the Historic Preservation Trust, the Historic Trust Fund, or the money from Addison Wesley. Clay believes the Historic Trust Fund should be used for high profile and structural rehabilitation projects. Clay moved to request up to $5,000.00 from the Historic Preservation Trust for a desktop, a laptop, and appropriate peripherals. Roberta seconded the motion. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. Mail The School Superintendent requested that a representative from the Historical Commission help name the new school off of Franklin Street. Clay nominated Virginia to be the representative to help name the school off of Franklin Street. Roberta seconded the nomination. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. Clay received a forwarded letter from the owners of Spence Farm requesting a demolition permit. Clay would like to invite the owners of Spence Farm to the March meeting and would also like to arrange a site visit. 75 Pleasant Street: The Reading Housing Authority claims that it will take $325,000.00 to fix 75 Pleasant Street. Clay will follow up. The selectman acted positively toward supporting the saving of 75 Pleasant Street. Miscellaneous: Sally informed the Commission about a Reading resident, Sergeant Jellison, who won the Medal of Honor for the Battle at Gettysburg during the Civil War. The "Moved Houses" presentation will be held at the Baptist Church at 1:30 PM on February 13, 2004. Two copies of the inventory were presented to the library on January 30, 2004. Rachel Baumgartner, the Local History Librarian, represented the Library. Virginia, Roberta, Sharlene, and Wilbar represented the Historical Commission. The Depot.
