Treasurer's Report: Roberta presented the current finances of the Commission (attached). A discussion of upcoming expenses began; Advertising and postcards for the presentation, a chair, network switch, and printer for the Archive room. Virginia asked if everyone in agreement for these expenditures? The general consensus is yes. 75 Pleasant Street: Virginia stated that Town Meeting is considering through the issue, and that the Commission should show support for the 75 Pleasant Street land swap at next Thursday's Town Meeting, May 13, 2004. Miscellaneous: Virginia has put together a National Register of Historic Places application for 65 Wakefield Street. Virginia sent the owners a draft of the application. A large area at 54 Scotland Road has been excavated. Pat Greichen has resigned from the Commission. Roberta moved that the Commission pay the registration fee, of $15.00/person, for Virginia and Sharlene to attend the Archives Alive seminar on May 5, 2004. - Wilbar seconded the motion. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. 483 Franklin Street: Review of deed restrictions. Minor adjustments were agreed to by the Commission members. Virginia suggested contacting Clay Jones, the property owner, on some of the wording so that the Commission will accept the restrictions. The Commission feels that the concept is reasonable. Roberta called Clay Jones to clarify the wording of the restrictions. Clay agreed to the changes. The Commission needs to check if there are any other flags that can be put on a property, besides the demolition delay. This will be needed for deed restrictions. The caretaking inspections in the deed restriction should be similar to those in the Foster- Emerson House deed restrictions. This reminded the Commission that it needs to arrange to visit and inspect the Foster-Emerson House. Wilbar moved that the revisions to the draft preservation restriction agreement for 483 Franklin Street, dated 5/4/2004, be returned for consummation by the grantor, Clay & Gladys Jones. Roberta seconded the motion. Vote: 4 - 0 - 0. Preservation Show: June 5, 2004. Virginia would like to ask Dana Perkins Engineers about getting the original 1865 map for the Town. She has drafted a letter requesting the map. The Commission reviewed the presentation. Next meeting May 25, 2004 Adjourned 10:00 PM RHC Minutes Rhc05O42004.doc Page 1 of 1
