CPDC Meeting: Roberta and Sharlene attended the CPDC Meeting on January 24, 2005. The CPDC has not heard from the owners of the Depot, except for the application for a 4 feet by 3 feet, black with goldleaf, wooden sign. The owners were not present. The sign is specified in the application as a hanging sign. According to the bylaw, the sign can only be mounted on the wall. The owners have not been cooperating/keeping in touch with the Commission. The Commission is recommending that the sign aesthetically fit to the right of the door for the coffee shop. Carriage House Bylaw: CPDC held a workshop meeting to work on the Carriage House bylaw. At the workshop, the Commission presented a revised bylaw, which strengthened its preservation aspects. CPDC reviewed the bylaw and had no objections. CPDC will support it and add necessary procedural wording. The Commission will meet on February 15, 2005, with the CPDC, for the final version. The Commission has provided a summary to Selectman to have the bylaw put on the warrant for the spring Town Meeting. The spring warrant closes March 1, 2005. Spence farm: No demolition permits have been applied for yet, but it will be demolished soon. It is recommended that Commission members should try to photograph the property. Town Master Plan: The Commission put together information for future preservation plans. Roberta read the section that the Commission added. These revisions are to be presented at the Master Plan Meeting on February 7, 2005. Harnden Street/Pleasant Street - Walgreens: Roberta and Sharlene attended the January 25, 2005 CPDC Meeting. - Roberta spoke at the meeting and said that the Commission will not release the demolition delay until the red brick and windows have been resolved. CPDC is also concerned with excessive signage because, the Sign bylaw states that windows can be filled up to 30% with signage. No resolution was determined. Miscellaneous: The Moved House Show will be at the Senior Center, at 7:30 PM on February 2 2005. A woman brought in her collection of pictures of circus family that lived in Reading. She showed the collection to Roberta and Sharlene. A thank you note will be sent. Wilbar heard about a woman who has a collection of Dana Perkins survey maps.
