• Treasurers Retort - no new business
• 420 Franklin St. - Town counsel has reviewed the preservation restrictions and they were
then forwarded to Brad Latham for input. Kathy called Brad last week to learn that he had a
few comments and was still waiting to hear from Peter Zanni and Shirley Day. Kathy will
contact Brad again. The restrictions will also need to be reviewed by Michael Steinitz at
Mass. Historical Commission; they can be submitted in draft form. Once Kathy has spoken
with Brad and gathered the required supporting documentation she will forward to Michael.
From earlier correspondences we were informed that there is a lead time, but they will review
as soon as possible.
• 75 Pleasant St - the RHC has received an application for demolition for this property. The
group discussed the completeness of this application and found it significantly complete for
this particular situation which is quite familiar. Sharlene moved that under section 5.13.3.3
that the Commission make a positive initial determination because the structure at 75
Pleasant St, Reading, MA is historically significant and is listed on the Historical and
Architectural Inventory. Virginia seconded Vote 3-0. A hearing date will be set for August
1'71h 2006 Kathy will make sure that a notice is put in the Chronicle and the letter is sent to the
applicant.
• 18 Woburn St - Kathy left a message for the owner to let them know that the structure is not
on the inventory and that we have no jurisdiction, but would be happy to speak with him.
• Walgreens - We still need to speak to them and find some photos for them to display.
• Senior work project - Virginia and Sharlene have made progress scanning the 1909
evaluation in preparation of data entry. Virginia will contact Elena about starting the project.
• Community Planning Act (CPA) - Is being looked at again and Virginia has been asked if
someone from the RHC would volunteer to work with the group to prepare for a future Town
meeting. Clay volunteered to work with the CPA.
• Adjourned at 9:30 pm
• Next meeting scheduled for September 12, 2006.
