The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16

Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts Chairman James J.Nugent, and Nancy Carlson,
Colleen Henessey—Seferian and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator
were present.
The minutes of the August 10, 2000 were read. Nancy Carlson made a motion to accept
the minutes as read seconded by Colleen Seferian and approved as read 2:0:1.
Next order of business:
• Report on WNV —status in Reading—no mosquitoes detected carrying the virus all
birds negative as on this meeting date.

• Review plan of Wendy's Restaurant construction on south Main Street presented by
construction engineer for Wendy's Edward Mitchell. The following recommendation
were presented and voted 3:0:0 as an accepted variance for Wendy's Corporation:
1. Single Dumpster located at abutting property of Harrows (6cubic yards)
emptied minimum of 2 x per week or as frequently as necessary.
2. Trash room will be built and attached to Wendy's restaurant with sprinkler
system and proper ventilation. Minimum size 8feet x 8feet
3. This trash room will have nonporous walls concrete floor and sprinkler system
4. The trash room will be emptied per order of the PIC (person in Charge of each
shift).
5. Grease trap will be a vacuum trap of no less than 1,000 gallons and emptied
weekly or as needed.
• Public Health Nurse, Carol Fiocco, RN reported to the Board information regarding
the availability of influenza vaccine and the schedule of flu clinics and homebound
visits. The first clinic will only be for those 65 years and older. There will be no
employee clinic-, elderly housing clinic for residents only will begin October 24.
• Reorganization of the Board was initiated: chairman voted 3:0:0 James J. Nugent.
Vice -Chairman, Nancy Carlson, 3:0:0 and Secretary Colleen Seferian 3:0:0. Re-
organization will be filed with Town Clerk.
• Administrative update-, increase dead crow pick-up no positives for West Nile Virus.
Cease order issued for Painter at Cross street regarding lead paint and sand blasting,
main Street garage paint booth—DEP inspection completed owner to compile with
ventilation changes. Increase housing complaints by 15%this summer over last
summer. Board also given update on developments throughout the town.
Motion to adjourned made by Nancy Carlson seconded by Colleen Seferian vote 3:0:0
