Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, James J. Nugent, Chairman, Colleen Seferian and Barbara Meade and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator were present. The minutes of the June 13, 2002 were accepted as read- 3:0:0. Next order of business: Discussion regarding request for letter of support from the Reading Board of Health to the State Plumbing Board regarding Calaresso's Farm Stand, 122 - 126 Main Street, Reading, MA 01867. The establishment shall install a hand sink at the entrance of the vegetable section of the Farm Stand for the employees to utilize before entering the establishment after working with products in the garden center. The Board signed the letter to be sent to the State Plumbing Board supportive of the variance with the understanding all plumbing and building codes are met. A copy handed to the attorney representing the client. ( Vote 3:0:0 in the affirmative) Next order of business 1148 Main Street - request for variance for septic replacement Mr. Greg Saab engineer presented septic design to the Board. The issued raised by the board were - proximity to the Ipswich River, is there any other alternative to the full repair, discussion of the pump, volume and mound system to be installed. The Board voted 3:0:0 to accept plans as presented. The engineering company and health director will schedule 3 inspections during installation. The contractor will apply for permit at $100. The homeowner will present plan before Conservation. Update on Summerfest and the Rotary Circus - the issues that presented the problems will not be able to sell food product in Reading without Food license. Administrative report: • new clerical staff to come to the department through out the month of August. • Plans for flu clinics are beginning • Discussion regarding dumpster fees and fines -all businesses annuals at $100 and temporary $30 up to 3 months.
