HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-10-12 Appointment Committee -Finance Committee MinutesFinance Committee Appointment Committee Meeting October 12, 2005 r The meeting convened at 7:00 p.m. in the Police Station Community Room, 15 UmQn Street t Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Town Moderator and Chairman Alan F~~ vi ce Committee Chairman Chuck Robinson, Selectman Chairman Camille Anthony, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, candidates Robert Prince and George Hines. Mr. Hines was interviewed and reviewed his municipal experience as well as his budgeting experience with the MBTA. He indicated that he has no conflicts of interest. He's currently on the Hospital Development Committee which is an ad hoc committee and which is permitted and he is also on the Reading Ice Arena Authority and would give that up if appointed if this would result in a conflict. Robert Prince reviewed his credentials which included residency in Reading since 1990, serving as Assistant City Manager in the Town of Dover, achievement on receiving his Masters in Public Administration and a law degree. He is currently a practicing attorney for the City of Salem, NH Police Department. He does there prosecuting, etc. He understands that he would have to give up his Constable position to serve on the Finance Committee and is willing to do so. On motion by Anthony seconded by Robinson the names of George V. Hines and Robert H. Prince were put into nomination for a term on the Finance Committee expiring June 30, 2008. Hines received three votes and was appointed. On motion by Robinson seconded by Anthony the Finance Committee Appointment Committee adjourned at approximately 7:30 p.m. Neect lly mitte d,
