Z001 ,'.!';Y 10 P t: 2 3 Reviews of the Agenda ➢ Chairman Russell Graham was nominated for Chairman by Jack Russell, Seconded by Meghan Tafoya and approved 3-1-1 ➢ Vice Chairman Jack Russell was nominated by Meghan Tafoya, Seconded by Sheila Clarke and approved 4-0-0 ➢ Clerk Sheila Clarke was nominated by Jack Russell, Seconded by Russell Graham and approved 4-0-0. Designation of member to ad hoc Downtown Parking Committee ➢ Jack Russell was nominated by Sheila Clarke, seconded by Meghan Tafoya to represent the EDC on the ad hoc Downtown Parking Committee and approved by a vote of 3-0-1 . Meeting Schedule ➢ Next Meeting July 6, 2006 ➢ Subsequent Meetings will be the I" Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. ➢ Meeting locations TBA by Town Manager, Peter Hechenbleikner. Development of Work Program ➢ Selectmen Tafoya, committee Liaison from the Board of Selectmen, gave clarification on the committee's role/definition derived from the Master Plan. The Economic Development Committee was formed to have a forum, which aids in bringing diversity and discussion on a global level. This committee is to help balance the CPDCs' role regarding planning. The committee will become involved with potential developers in the early proposal stages to ensure appropriate development within the town. It will also serve as a source of information and identify needs of industry within Reading. ➢ Smart Growth Iniatives - overview to be explained at CPDC meeting on 6/19, as well as Mixed Use By- law. ➢ Utilize and develop Town web page as a form of marketing materials for potential developers. ➢ Research Grant Opportunities for Economic Development. ➢ Set up meeting with State and local representatives introducing committee. ➢ Meet with new property owners within town (i.e. M.F. Charles Bldg., Tasc Bldg.). ➢ Attend Addison Wesley Working Group meetings if available On motion by Russell, seconded by Tafoya, the Committee voted to adjourn at 9:00 p.m on a vote of 4-0-0..
