Economic Development Committee (EDC) C•
April 16, 2008
Russell Graham, Sheila Clarke, Meghan Young-Tafoya, Leslie McGonagle, Jack Russell, Peter Hechenbleikner, and Carol
Kowalski met at the Arnold Berger Room, Town Hall, Reading, Massachusetts beginning at 4:00 P.M.

Agenda Review
• Work Program
o The committee reviewed the plan thoroughly and assigned tasks to each member. Please see attached
copy of Open Items and Status Work plan document.
• Reports
Fagade Improvements
o Included in work plan
Alleyway Improvement Project
o No change from last meeting
Farm Stand
Pending report from Michelle Ferullo regarding contacting Calresso's ownership to see if they would be
interested in participating in the farm stand.
Property Status Report
o The Town Manager, Town Planner, and representatives from the Board of Selectmen will be meeting with
- the DEP regarding the clean-up progress of the three South Main Street sites (Saunders Tux Shop,
Frame Shop, and Gas station). Jack Russell volunteered to attend on behalf of the EDC.
• Other Business
o The Town Manager updated the committee on the status of the Streetscape project. He stated that the
project was going well and was ahead of schedule despite Keyspan issues. The original lights chosen
have been replaced due to the light illuminating down vs. up. It is a slight modification.
The Town Manager scheduled the EDC to present to the BOS on May 13, 2008.
Minutes
• On a motion by Young-Tafova, seconded by Clarke, the committee voted to accept the Minutes of the
April 2, 2008. The vote was unanimous.
Meeting Schedule
o Next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Berger Room, Town Hall, Reading,
Massachusetts beginning at 7:30 P.M.
On a motion by Young-Tafova, seconded by Clarke, the committee voted to adjourn at 6:00 P.M. on a unanimous
vote.
