HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-01-26 Arts Council MinutesLI/ Reading Arts Council Minutes January 26, 1994 Members present: Alice Collins, Jeanne Freeman, Bev McAleer, David Mitchell, Karin Samatis, Lee Selzer and Diane Slezak. Also present was guest Chris Twitcheil. Minutes were approved from the last meeting. Treasurer's report was accepted. Chris showed us his design for the "Reading Guide to the Arts" brochure.. The following are outstanding grants not requested yet: RMHS English Dept. field trips Salem $340 "Long Days Journeyā€˛ $ 50 Todd Harrington Oral History $100 Marilyn Harrington $100 Judy O'Hare $100 Reading 350th $500 Community Input Meeting will be changed to the fall; hopefully to September 21 st. Topics to be discussed at the meeting: Reading Association for the Fine and Performing Arts presentation? Encouragement of individual applications. Information and applications available for the new funding cycle. Karin and Jeanne will help plan the meeting. We reviewed the Alice's Annual Report for 1992. Alice will call Lorraine Horn from Killam school about a recent article in the "School Motes" of "The Daily Times Chronicle." We are going to request receiving the monthly newsletter from each of the schools. Alice handed out the list of tasks that we need to share. All are encouraged to review and sign up to help, Jeanne will get the mail. Lee will do publicity and grant history. We will buy the catalogue of funders by the Associated Grant Makers for the RPL. The "C umnicle of Philanthropy" can be obtained through interlibrary loan from the BPL. Next meeting is March 23, Wednesday, at 7:30p.m. at the RPL conference room. Respectfully submitted, Diane N.
