Members present: Donna Callahan, Alice Collins, Jeanne Freeman, Jane
McKenzie, David Mitchell, Earline Robinson, Karin Samatis, and Chris
Twitchell.
Treasurer's Report: The last grant cycle money is in. Alice will
check with Bev on any surplus. Treasurer's report accepted.
New Members: Welcome to Donna. Callahan and Chris Twitchell. John
McKenzie has also applied.
State Update: The Cultural Council budget went through. We should
have the amount by the September 21 meeting. We will continue with
the one October cycle. Being considered is extra monies for individ-
ual artists, either at state or local level.
Community Input Meeting: Wednesday, September 21, in the large meet-
ing room, from 7 to 9 pn. All Arts Council members are asked to
attend. Thanks to Earline for offering refreshments. Alice will
check on the possibility of having the meeting room from 6 to 10 to
facilitate setting up.
Publicity will hopefully include cable, the Chronicle, and the
Suburban News. Chris has offered to set-up and find out costs of
ads. Announcements will also be sent to local artistic groups with
possible advertising done through Phillis Nissen. Suggested time
frame for advertising; Alice will check with Bruce Moran on run-
ning the brochure in August. Beginning the first week after Labor
Day ads will be run including information on grant applications.
Invitations will be sent following with reminders containing R.S.V.Ps..
Possible principle speakers include Jack Carroll, Diane Slezak,
Barbara Mellon, Judy Mahar, former grant recipients, and associations
listed in our brochure.
Other Business: Talk to Lee about the possibility of colating the
grants again - You did a great job last year.
The motoin was made to adjourn by Jane and seconded by Jeanne.
