September 21, 1994
Community Input Meeting
Members Present: Alice Collins, Jeanne Freeman, Bev McAleer, Jane
McKenzie, David Mitchell, Ron Morse, Erline Robinson, Karin Samatis,
Lee Selzer, Chris Twichell.
Opening Remarks:
Karin introduced members,announced funds available, described
the function of the Reading Arts Council, and explained the philos-
ophy of the grant selection process.
Guest Speakers:
A. Jack Cairl - lresident of the Reading Association of Fine
and Performing Arts - discussed the hopes of the future Reading
Arts Center. res Nat'l Asse,nbly of Local Arts Agencies.
B. Lisa Hergenrother - L.C.C. Program Coordinator - provide
background on the Ma. Cultural Council, discussed other funding
available, and provided hand-outs.
C. Barbara. Mellon - former president of the Reading Arts
Council and publisher of the new magazine for the arts north of
Boston, "Pleiades" - presented her magazine with a strong Reading
influence.
D. Judythe Evans Meagher - Artist and grant recipient - dis-
cussed the experience of the grant application.
Closing:
Karin commented of the efforts of the Reading Arts Council,
gave the grant application deadline, and opened the meeting for
questions and com,nents.

Reading Arts Council Treasurer's Report
No activity this month.
Note: We received a deposit of $9,477 from the state, but it was received after the close
of the reporting period. So, the money is available and we will be sending in
reimbursment requests now, even though the deposit will not be on the offical report until
May.
