was moved to the 2003-2004 grant cycle totaling $4,160.00 in grant funds available to
applicants. A total of $417.76 is available in administrative funds for the fiscal year
2003-2004.

letters of nomination
Reviewed various mail items
Grant Cycle wrap up and comments: Allison commented that although the online
process for entering grants was fairly easy she did experience some inflexibility with the
system. Most of it had to do with applications submitted after the deadline. MCC was
cooperative and helped expedite the process.
Gold Star Nomination: A lot of positive feedback. Gene Nigro & the RSO may be
nominated at the MCC Award Show at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. A need for RCC
representation was expressed.
RAU Update: Update by Nicole Cain. The RAU held a meeting on January 19''. The
focus of this group is a public art project. The RAU, Peter Hechenbleikner, and Reading
Square tenants who flank the alley way at the Veterinary Hospital and The Wine Shop
have agreed on a painted mural in that alley way. Its purpose is to provide residents with
a piece of public art, keep people interested in walking the downtown area and create
more of awareness of the arts in Reading. Project is pending on permission from building
owners.
