MINUTES of the April 1, 2008 meeting were approved.
TREASURER'S REPORT
AH distributed a report indicating that our administrative funds on balance had increased to
$659.64 as a result of the town crediting our operating account with annual interest for town
fiscal years 2006 and 2007.
LH requested a reimbursement form to submit for costs associated with the grantee reception.
COMMUNITY INPUT SURVEY
LW reported that the survey was revised to reflect changes/additions we suggested. It is
scheduled to be deployed on the home page of the town's website by the end of this week. The
town has also agreed to send a link to the survey to residents who have provided their email
addresses for town communications.
CHAIR'S REPORT
LW reported that scheduling difficulties have forced the Reading Band Parents to postpone the
New Orleans night for which they had received an RCC grant. A discussion followed about the
rules pertaining to how the rescheduling would affect their eligibility to receive the granted funds.
It was agreed that it was acceptable for the Band Parents to roll the grant over to the following
calendar year without jeopardizing their RCC funding.
TOWN DAY
LW reported that she registered the RCC for a table at the Reading Friends and Family Day on
June 21. She circulated a catalog of promotional items for input about what sort of souvenir we
might offer visitors to our table for the purpose of raising our visibility and attracting new
members. It was agreed that we would hand out rules imprinted with our logo and with the
caption "the value of culture is immeasurable."
LH also suggested an interactive activity such as a mural celebrating the arts to which our visitors
could contribute.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:30, and was followed by a well-attended grantee
reception.
Next meeting rescheduled for Monday, June 9 due to scheduling conflict with the Police Station
Community Room.
Respectfully submitted,
Vicky Schubert
