Chairperson Mary Andreola called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.
Minutes of the October 19, 1998 meeting were moved by Betty Cronin and seconded by
Gay Williams. 10-0-0
Financial report was moved by Gay Williams and seconded by Joanne Wooldridge. 10-0-
0
Administrator's report was moved by Gladys Cail and seconded by Dave Brigham. 10-
0-0
Ted Cohen forwarded information regarding the Home Minor Repair Program. The
Council will review the material at the next meeting.
Adopt-a-Family plans were reviewed. COA will adopt a senior citizen. Members
volunteered to help with Thanksgiving and Christmas distribution as follows:
Thanksgiving (Nov. 24): Dave Brigham, Dottye and Mark Foxon, Gladys Cail
Christmas (Dec. 22): Betty and John Cronin, Gay Williams, Dave Brigham, Dottye and
Mark Foxon, Mary Andreola, Gladys Cail.
Dave Brigham presented information about Sanborn Home Care, which was formed in
the Spring of 1998. The purpose was to form a supportive services network within senior
housing and the community. They currently are serving 21 people at Peter Sanborn Place,
19 people at Frank Tanner Drive, 10 people in the community and 5 private pay people
not subsidized by Mystic Valley Elder Services. Staff includes 5 full-time and 5 part-time
employees including a Registered Nurse and Service Coordinator. Lifeline and pharmacy
coordination, liasison with other agencies, homemaking and personal care, and an
evening meal program are part of the total package.
