• Minutes of the October meeting accepted. motion by Sally, 2nd by. Carole
+ Richard presented his October Administrator's Report,
Discussed ways to increase daily meal attendance such as scheduling
activities right before or after lunch time - bring someone new to lunch
and get a free meal were a couple of suggestions. Sally suggested having
more special meals, possibly at the high school, when it is completed, and
asking local business people for donations.
• Sally feels that a member of the COA board should become a part of the
new Health Facility Committee recently formed. Dottye agreed to be an
Associate Member until we get a new Human Services Director, who can
then take over. Money from the Hospital Trust will be used for this
facility.
• Financial Report reviewed and accepted. Money from the Burbank and
Schroeder Funds will pay for the Thanksgiving meals which we purchase
from Boston Market and deliver to homebound seniors. The Staff makes
up the routes, maps, etc. to make it easier for the volunteers.
+ Richard said we need more low-income families for our Holiday gifts.
• Discussed Christmas decorations and agreed to have the decorated tree as
usual.
• Talked about mailing Pleasantries four times a year, but Betty pointed out
that the Voke does the printing and they are off in the summer. It was
agreed to do the mailing in February, June and October. For the mass
mailings we leave some at Wingate, Daniels, Longwood Place, Post
Office, Atlantic, Library and the Senior Center.
• Richard and Betty visited other Senior Centers to see what they did about
cigarette receptacles most did not have any - we removed ours and no
one seems to miss it.
• Window cleaning will be done soon - pool table room all ready.
