Betty Cronin opened the meeting at 6:10. Present were: Betty Cronin, Carol Patterson,
Dick Anderson, Barbara Powers, Carole Scrima, Ruth Goldberg, Dottye Foxon, Sally
Hoyt, Stacey Bertocchi and Dawn Folopoulos, Administrator. Also present Marguerite
Bosnian, alternate member. Pat, the van driver was present. Absent Edwina Kasper.
October minutes accepted.
Administrator's Report:
The Lunch and MOW participant's stats were missing for October because
Sharon left and the new mealsite manager does not keep records like Sharon.
Dawn requested funding from the Burbank Account to cover the purchase of
1) Cash Lock Box (approx. $20.00) and ten decks of Bridge cards at $1.55 each
($15.50) for "party bridge" which the coordinator is working to bring to the
Center.
2) Compact Disc Player (approx. $200.00) to play music at birthday lunches and
other special occasions at the Senior Center. The Library will loan the center 5
music CD's every month.
3) Purchase one full-page ad in the Reading Recreation Winter-Spring Community
Guide. ($150.00)
Dottye made a motion to spend up to $400.00 from the Burbank Account for these three
purchases. Ruth 2nd motion. Carried unanimously.
This year maps will be made out for the volunteers delivering Thanksgiving Dinners
along with the list of names, addresses and phone numbers.
Carole Patterson reported on the Nurse Advocacy Task Force meeting. They discussed
sending out a survey to frail elders in town to determine their needs. They are looking for
ways to pay for the mailing, which would be about $200.00.
Motion to adjourn at 7:00 by Ruth, 2nd Carole.
Next meeting Monday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m.
