the additional monies would be applied towards a safety program, and exercise program, a printer for the
office and the annual volunteer recognition event.
Dawn presented a memo requesting funding from the Burbank Trust Account to purchase one full-page

Old Business
We shared our experiences with delivering the Thanksgiving hot meals to home bound seniors. This project
is funded by the Schroeder trust Fund. Thirty meals were delivered.
The OPTIONS newsletter needs to go on the back burner for now. The funding that would be generated
solely by selling advertisements in the publication would be insufficient to cover the cost of printing and
Rosemary Violante's efforts in creating the quarterly publication.
Looking to the future we want a name for the Senior Center and the Elder/Human Services Division that
will attract seniors of all ages. There was discussion of possibly renaming the Senior Center the "Pleasant
Street Center. In the future a focus group might be something to consider regarding this matter. Betty
enlightened us that the naming of the "Pleasantries" newsletter actually evolved from the location of the
Senior Center on Pleasant Street.
New Business
Christmas Dinners are to be delivered on December 24 by noon time.
Stacey suggested collaborating volunteers from the Middle Schools with the Elder Service programs to
bring the children together with seniors. This effort would foster the sense of community the schools are
looking to instill in students. Possibilities include the friendly visitor program or shoveling or fall clean up.
Dawn let us know that some of these collaborations are already happening and suggested that Sue Reardon
would be able to answer the specifics regarding this coordination. Stacey will can Sue Reardon
