The Administrator's Report will be filed. Financial Report Dawn explained the Mystic Valley Grant helps support the administrative costs for the Friendly Visitor program. Financial Report will be filed. New Business The Senior Center sign has been removed from the kiosk in the front of the building. There was further discussion about a new name for the "Senior Center' Shared experiences of Christmas Dinner Delivery and an important note mentioned by Dawn. *If there is no answer after calling and ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door we MUST call 911. Memo from June 2006 said to revisit in January 2007 the subject of the Burbank Trust Fund possibly supplementing the instructor's fees for paid programs in order support the instructor while the program gains popularity. The new van that will be delivered by 2-16-07 was paid for 80° by the State and 20% by the Burbank Fund. The 128 Ford leased van will be returned. A new umbrella stand was donated by Wingate at Reading. Dawn will look into getting a small plaque to acknowledge the gift. Dawn is looking for volunteers to take on a new project "In Honor Of. That she noticed at another Senior Center" The project would involve placing envelopes at local funeral homes or business and inviting people to make donations "In Honor Of' or "In Memory Of' someone who is/was important to them. The donor would be able specify what they would like their donation to go towards (ie. educational programs, social programs, fitness programs; new piano, new pool table, heating needs etc.). Currently donations are restricted to seniors in emergency situations. Sally Hoyt moved that COA consider funding to provide additional programs for seniors. 2nd by Charlie. A vote was taken and 2 approved, 5 opposed. A request for further discussion next meeting. Room darkening shades are required for the Great Room downstairs because of the glare it is difficult to have movies or other activities. Betty volunteered to contact New England Drapery. They provided great service for the upstairs blinds. On January 10, 2007, Reading Art Association is having an Oil Still Life showing and Carol volunteered to contact about the possibility of exhibit some of the art work at the Senior Center.
