HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-06-21 ad Hoc Community Preservation Act Study Committee Minutesi c5XI Pursuant to a legally posted meeting the Ad Hoc Community Preservation Act Study Committee convened on June 21, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the Berger room Readinggown Hall 16 Lowell St Reading, Ma 71 Present Clayton Jones, Mary Ellen Stolicki, William Brown, Camille AnthonyjKaffn,- Flammia , Patricia Lloyd and Israel Maykut -0 Absent Mark Wetzel The minutes of June 14, 2007 as amended on a motion Camille Anthony second+y Karen Flammia ~ On a motion by Camille Anthony second by Clayton Jones it was voted by 6-0 to name Mary Ellen Stolecki Chairmen with the resignation of Clay ton Jones because he is moving to Malden The general feeling was that more information was need on housing options not only to meet the requirements of the act but to meet the requirements of 40 B - The cost factor of operating fields at the present water treatment plant that could be developed with CPA funds was questioned, Bill Brown will ask Bob Keating for an estimate . The committee felt that it would be helpful to have the Town Planner and the Director of the Housing Authority present at the next meeting . Clay Jones pointed out that in Brookline that CPA funds where being used to help people to purchase homes with the understanding that there would be deed restrictions so that the units would remain affordable forever The committee also felt that CPA funds could be used to help upgrade illegal accessory apartments to help meet the 40 b goal . The meeting adjourned at 8"30 PM next meeting July 12, 2007 at 7:00 PM 1" Respectfully William Brown
