The committee reviewed the policy from June where the selectmen outlined the charge
for the ad hoc committee.
The committee developed questions to ask towns how it's been as members of CCP
campaign
a. How has the CCP program been helpful to your community?
b. Would you recommend the program to Reading, MA ?
c. How long did it take your community to do the baseline data research?
d. Who did the work? Intern, committee, office staff, other; could you please estimate
costs in time and dollars?
e. Is the software provided by ICLEI user friendly?
f: Was their technical assistance timely and effective?
g. How much were your energy savings and pollution reductions?
h. Where did you make the most gains in savings and reductions?
i. What pitfalls did you find along the way?
j. How many members are on your committee? Do they represent other committees
and/or departments in your city/town government?
Kim will send information on an intern bulletin board, she suggests $15/hour usually
The committee members and attendees chose some member towns to contact:
-Gina had called Northampton and left a message with part-time recycling coordinator
Also Arlington and maybe Windsor CT as it is about the size of Reading
-Ron will contact Medford
-Ray Barnstable and Keene NH
-Stephanie Cambridge and Shutesbury
Will try to get one done each by Sept. 14 next meeting.
Meet again Sept 28.
Look at the Master Plan and see where the committee can contribute.
