Board of Cemetery Trustees
Tuesday, April 5, 1994
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of April 5,
1994 convened at 7:30 P.M. in the Berger Conference Room, Reading
Town Hall.
Present: John Silvaggi, Chairman
Joyce K. Miller, Vice-Chairman
Daniel F. Driscoll, Secretary
Carl H. Amon, Jr.
Edward F. Fuller
Director Robert Keating of the Cemetery Division was also
present.
1. Secretary's Report
On a motion by Mr. Fuller, seconded by Mr. Amon, it was unani-
mously voted to accept the Secretary's minutes of the March 8,
1994 Trustees meeting.
2. Franklin Street Cemeterv Update
Mrs. Miller advised that she had attended the Selectman's Meeting
regarding Article 20 on the land swap and the PRD. The Selectmen
postponed their vote.
After further discussion by the Trustees, on a motion by Mr.
Driscoll, seconded by Mr. Amon, it was unanimously voted to in-
struct the Chairman to inform the Town Manager and the Town Meet-
ing, if asked, that the Trustees are against Article 20.
The Trustees decision was based on the loss of frontage on
Franklin Street, the minimum amount of land gained, additional
cost of building a wall, the consideration and goodwill in the
neighborhood and to concur with the proper intent of the PRD.
3. Receipts
Director Keating furnished the Trustees with copies of the
receipts from Sales of Lots and Miscellaneous charges for July
through April 1, 1994. The gross receipts from Sale of Lots
reflected a 30% increase.
4. Next Meetin
The next scheduled meeting will be Wednesday, May 4, 1994.
Meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
