BOARD OF CEMETERY TRUSTEES
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 1994
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of Novem-
ber 9, 1994 convened at 7:30 PM in the Selectmens Meeting Room,
Reading Town Hall.
Present: John Silvaggi, Chairman
Joyce Miller, Vice Chairman
Daniel F Driscoll, Secretary
Edward F Fuller
Mary Vincent
Robert Keating, Supervisor of the Reading Cemeteries was
also present.
Note: Mr Edward F Fuller was appointed to serve the late
Carl H Amon's term.
1. Cemetery Naming Hearing
In response to a notice of a Public Hearing to name the
Franklin St. Cemetery, several letters were received by Super-
visor Keating. In addition interested citizens attended the
meeting. Wood End suggested by attendees Mary Hatfield and Jen-
nifer Boisvert was the name recommended by the majority of the
letter writers. This name was first brought to the attention of
the Trustees by Mrs Miller along with the historical background
of the section called Wood End in the early history of Reading.
On a motion by Mr Fuller, seconded by Mr Driscoll, it was
unanimously voted to name the new cemetery - Wood End Cemetery.
Supervisor Keating was directed to have a sign made up and
posted on the Franklin Street location.
2. Secretary Minutes
On a motion by Ms Vincent,
unanimously voted to accept the

Supervisor Keating presented a drawing of a proposed granite
post measuring 11X611X6' which would be engraved, Carl H Amon Way.
The cost not to exceed $ 500.00. Mr Keating was requested to ob-
tain samples of different types of lettering for a final Trustee
decision.
4. Budget Revision
Supervisor Keating advised that the Town Manager has
proposed a 3% increase in salaries for all Town Employees. This
would require an additional funding of $ 4291.00 for the FY96
Cemetery Budget to cover the salary increase for the Cemetery
Personnel.
On a motion by Mrs Miller, seconded by Ms Vincent, it was
unanimously voted to increase the monies from Sale of Lots from
$ 15,000.00 to $ 19,291.00.
5. MWRA Fertilizer
Supervisor Keating reported that he had obtained two tons of
fertilizer pellets from the MWRA at no cost to the Town. The
value of this fertilizer is approximately $ 1,500.00.
6. Receipts
Mr Keating furnished the Trustees with copies of the
receipts from Sale of Lots and miscellaneous charged for July
1994 through October 31, 1994.
7. Next Meeting
1994.
The next scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, December 6,
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
