Tuesday, July 2, 1996
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of July 2, 1996 convened at 7:30 P.M. in the
Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA.
Present: John M. Silvaggi, Chairman
Mary Vincent, Secretary
Randolph Harrison
Daniel F. Driscoll
Ronald O'Connell
William Brown
Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance.
Review of Past Meeting Minutes
On a motion by John Silvaggi, seconded by Daniel Driscoll, the minutes were accepted
unanimously.
Uodate of Wood _End Development
Construction has begun on the stone wall. It has a 24" foundation and there will be 80 yards of
concrete used. Construction of actual wall should be finished by the end of July. Water systems
and faucets are to be connected July 3, 1996. Hay from the Parker School development project
will be used by the Cemetery at a cost savings of about $800. Superintendent Keating feels that
the lawn will be put in this Fall.
FY96 Budget Shortfall
A Budget shortfall of about $1500. was brought to the attention of the Trustees. The shortfall is
due to a cut-back in our budget of fuel allowance, clothing and shoes expenditure mandated by
the Union, and our electrical service being changed from residential to commercial rates. After
much discussion it was voted to make-up this shortfall from the Bequest Fund.
Reorganization of the Board of Trustees
On a unanimous vote by the Board, the following officers were elected:
Daniel Driscoll, Chairman
John Silvaggi, Vice Chairman
Mary Vincent, Secretary
Receipts
Receipts are down from last year's totals.
New Business
The Board agreet to meet at 7:00 P.M. at Wood End Cemetery for our next meeting on Tuesday,
September 3, 1996.
The Meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
