Board of Cemetery Trustees b
Tuesday, September 3, 1996 a
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of September 3, 1996 convened at 8:03 P.M. in
the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA.
Present: Daniel F. Driscoll, Chairman
Mary Vincent, Secretary
Randolph Harrison
William Brown
Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance.
Old Business
Prior to convening at Town Hall, the Trustees met at Wood End Cemetery for a visual
report-in-progress. The Trustees were very pleased with how work is progressing. The Trustees
would like it noted that the vision and hard work of Robert Keating and his crew should be
commended. Superintendent Keating hopes that sale of lots may begin next fall (1997). The
Trustees returned to Town Hall to conduct the rest of their meeting.
Review of Past Meeting Minutes
On a motion by Randolph Harrison, seconded by William Brown, the minutes were accepted
unanimously.
Columbarium Options
Superintendent Keating presented the Trustees with a report on the possibility of having a
Columbarium structure at Wood End. He presented the Trustees with different types of
Columbariums that are available. He will present more on this at a later meeting.
Forest Glen Renovations.
There is an on-going problem with the lawn at Forest Glen due to the drought conditions which
have existed. Superintendent Keating feels this will be a work in progress for several years to
come.
Receipts and Trust Fund Report
The receipts and Trust Fund report were reviewed by the Trustees.
New Business
- In answer to a question by William Brown, Superintendent Keating is looking into a water supply
or feed for the Veteran's Memorial. Superintendent Keating will check to see if at the time of the
Route 129 renovations, this could be addressed.
The Meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M. The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 1, 1996 at 7:30
P.M.
