Woodend Update and Dedication Discussion The Public Works crews are still screening gravel and bringing it to the site. Outside contractors will be available if needed. Superintendent Keating has ordered plantings to be put in late October. Dedication: Sunday, October 5, 1997 at 2:30 P.M. Reverend Alan Bond will represent Reading Clergy. Veteran's groups will also be represented. It has been difficult to receive a commitment from the R.M.H.S. Band for this date. The Trustees felt that the Veteran's groups might have a suitable person to play during the flag raising. New Business Dan and Joan Paglia came before the Board to ask for a waiver on the non-resident fee for purchasing a lot. The Paglia's just sold their home after living in Reading for 27 years. Mrs. Paglia had called during the summer regarding when Woodend would be open. After discussion, the Board amended our policy on non-residents to read: Former Reading residents may purchase a lot before November 1, 1997 and the non-resident fee will be waived. This motion was made by Randolph Harrison, seconded by Daniel Driscoll. It was passed unanimously. The thanked the Trustees and Superintendent Keating for the Boards decision. Charles McDonald, Jr. has donated a new flag to Charles Lawn in memory of his wife. Superintendent Keating repeated that a firm he has contacted feels that the Laurel Hill obelisk could be pressure washed then treated with water sealer to preserve the engraved names on it. This could be done for about $2,800.00. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M. The next meeting of the Trustees will lie Tuesday, September 30, 1997 at 6:00 P.M.
