HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-09-30 Board of Cemetery Trustees MinutesTown of Reading Board of Cemetery Trustees Tuesday, September 30, 1997 Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of September 30, 1997 convened at 6:00 P.M. in the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA 01867 Present: Daniel F. Driscoll, Chairman John Silvaggi, Vice-Chairman Mary Vincent, Secretary William Brown Randolph Harrison Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. Review of Past Meeting Minutes The minutes were accepted on a motion by William Brown, seconded by John Silvaggi. Woodend Update and Dedication More loam is being screened at Strout Avenue and going to fill in the back area of Wood End. The back area, toward the wetlands, will be hydro-seeded Monday, October 1, 1997. 215 plants are scheduled to go in after the dedication on Sunday, October 5, 1997. The flag pole is in. The sidewalks in front are done. There has been about $120,000 expended to this date. The Board complimented Superintendent Robert Keating on the excellent job he has done. Superintendent Keating passed out the program for the Wood End Dedication on Sunday, October 5, 1997. This will be a legally posted meeting of the Trustees. Receipts Receipts were reviewed by the Trustees. New Business The Civil War Monument at Laurel Hill has been cleaned and sealed. Town Manager, Peter Hechenbleikner, received $3,000.00 from finance Committee to pay for this work. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
