Board of Cemetery Trustees
Tuesday, February 3, 1998 :ao
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of February 3, 1998 convened at 6:00
P.M. in the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA 01867
Present: Daniel F. Driscoll, Chairman
Mary Vincent, Secretary
William Brown
Randolph Harrison
Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance.
Review of Past Meeting Minutes
The minutes were accepted on a motion by William Brown, seconded by Randolph
Harrison.
Woodend Update
Superintendent Keating reported that wraps have been put around the trees to protect
them from animals. The Reading Municipal Light Department is still looking for a light
for the flagpole at Wood End. New signs are ready and will be installed as weather
permits. Superintendent Keating stated we are within our $200,000 frame work on work
that has been done at Wood End. Drainage and asphalt road work were not figured into
our original estimate. Irrigation can be installed in-house as we do not have to pay water
costs from our budget back to the Town.
New Business
The Finance Committee meets March 4, 1998 and our budget will be presented then.
Receipts
Superintendent Keating reported that fees are behind. Residents are happy with the two
price structure of Charles Lawn and Wood End. The Trustees feel we are enabling
residents to buy a lot suited to their financial needs.
Adjourn
The meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M. The next meeting of the Trustees will be
Wednesday, March 4, 1998 at 6:00 P.M. We will then go to the Finance Committee for
our budget presentation.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary R. Vincent
Secretary
