Review of Parks/Forestry and Cemetery Division Consolidation Superintendent Keating reported to the Trustees on his six-month review with Ted McIntire, head of Public Works. Superintendent Keating asked and was granted a six-month extension before making his job permanent. Superintendent Keating felt he had worked through the Spring and Summer months, but wants to work through Fall and Winter. This time period would make a full year on the job. Wood End Update Superintendent Keating reported to the Trustees that of sixty-six lots sold, five lots had been sold to former Reading residents. The Trustees had asked him to keep track of how much demand by former residents there was for Wood End lots. Superintendent Keating detailed an irrigation plan for Wood End. This would consist of sprinklers with a manual on/off system. This would greatly reduce the man-hours needed for hand watering areas. It would be about $10,000.00 which could be paid from remainder of money funded for the project. The motion was made and passed unanimously to install this system. It will cost about $3,500.00 to finish the roads. The island wall at center front will also be installed. Superintendent Keating is contacting the same people who did the front wall so that the stone will be matching. Receipts Receipts were reviewed. The Urn Garden at Forest Glen has had numerous burials. New Business Regarding Wood End and the Conservation Commission, Conservation will not sign off on the Wood End project until all deeds and transfers of property between the School Department, Conservation, and Cemetery are completed.
