Board of Cemetery Trustees
Monday, March 27, 2000
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of March 27, 2000 convened at 6:00 P.M. in the
Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading Town Hall..
Present: Mary Vincent, Vice Chair
William Brown, Secretary
Roc O'Connell
Steve Meehan
Janet Baronian
Absent: Daniel Driscoll, Chairman
Also in attendance: Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries. -
Peter Hechenbleikner, Town Manager
Elizabeth Klepeis, Town Treasurer
Ted McIntire, Director of Public Works
Budget Meeting
The Town Manager explained the need for an extra $25,000.00 to help with the deficit because of the
defeat of the override.
i The Trustees voted 5-0 to approve the $25,000.00 to support benefits for full time employees. The
Trustees explained that together with the payment for Wood End ($55,000.00) it would cut into the
ability to increase our income. The Board stressed that it will review this position next year. State law
allows the Board sole discretion on funds.
The Board adjourned to the Conference Room.
Review of Past Meeting Minutes
The minutes of March 1, 2000 were accepted on a motion by Roc O'Connell and seconded by Steve
Meehan.
Receipts
Receipts were reviewed and are on track.
Parking Signs .
A short discussion concerning "No Parking" signs, the Board decided to leave them alone.
Adiourn
The meeting adjourned at 7:35 P.M. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Trustees will be
Tuesday, May 2, 2000 at 6:00 P.M.
