HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-04-09 Board of Cemetery Trustees MinutesTown of Reading Board of Cemetery Trustees Tuesday, April 9, 2002 Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of April 9, 2002 convened at 6:00 P.M. in the Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading Town Hall. Present: Mary Vincent, Chairman Daniel Driscoll, Vice Chairman 71 William Brown, Secretary CD ~:Q CD Roc O'Connell CD V-- rT- n Janet Baronian N r- Steve Meehan Also Present: Robert Keating, Superintendent ca cr Review of Past Meeting Minutes The Minutes of March 6, 2002 were reviewed and approved on a motion by Dan Driscoll and seconded by Steve Meehan. General Business The Board discussed a request by the Reading Antiquarian Society to allow Drew Engelbrect, a candidate for Eagle Scout, to transcribe 18th and 19'h century gravestones. Bob Keating explained the law with regard to photos, the Board could allow it because it is not for commercial use. After lengthy discussion the Board requested the scout appear before the Board. The board also received a request from the Antiquarian Society to air a tour of the Laurel Hill Cemetery filmed by Reading Cable TV. The Board requested that Mr. Alan Ulrich present the film to the Board for viewing. Bob Keating noted that an "As Built" drawing of Wood End awaits sign off by the Conservation Committee. Bill Brown will walk with the Committee. Bob will not have the same amount of seasonal help this year. He will get contract help, this saves the Town money in benefits but costs us one extra person. Receipts Receipts are normal. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 6:45PM. The next scheduled meeting of the Trustees will be Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at 6:00 P.M.
