General Business
The Trustees welcomed new member, Douglas Bruce. Bob Keating explained the role of the
Board. Mary Vincent explained the need to be prudent with the perpetual care fund.
Bob Keating noted that the cemeteries are under the same water restrictions as citizens and that
they hand water as best they can. Shrubs have been trimmed. Bob noted that the number of
cremations has been increasing. This affects income from fees, he also explained that because
of low interest rates, the return on the 3 million in the perpetual care fund is less than it was 15
years ago on one million dollars. He also stated that Reading is among the highest communities
in overall costs in fees etc.

Receipts are in line.
