HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-03-22 Bylaw Committee MinutesBYLAW COMMITTEE MINUTES #229 March 22, 1995 7:40 p.m. Meeting called to order in the Employees' Lounge in Town Hall. Members present: Phil Pacino, George Theophanis, Ed Murphy, Jack Russell and Dolores Carroll. CPDC members, Nancy Shipes and Tom Baillie, appeared before the Committee to review the following warrant articles: Article 23: CPDC voted against this article which, under certain conditions, permits building on non-conforming lots. On motion of Ed Murphy, seconded by Dolores Carroll, the Committee voted not to recommend Article 23 by a vote of 5-0. Article 18 allows the Building Inspector to issue permits, formerly issued by the Board of Appeals, on non-conforming structures. On motion of Ed Murphy, seconded by Jack Russell, the Committee voted to recommend Article 18 by a vote of 4-0-1. Article 19 prohibits neon signs. CPDC does not recommend this article as they feel the present bylaw has not had time to materialize. On motion of Jack Russell, seconded by Dolores Carroll, the Committee voted to table this article by a vote of .5-0. Article ?=Dreplaces the 5-10 district with an 5-15 district to prevent overcrowding as land becomes more scarce. The Committee postponed their vote until more information is available. Article 21 amends the PRD to ensure coverage under state statute. On motion of Jack Russell, seconded by Ed Murphy, the Committee recommends this article by a vote of 5-0. Article 22 places a PRD on properties which currently do not qualify. On motion of Jack Russell, seconded by Ed Murphy, the Committee voted not to recommend this article by a vote of 5-0. 9:30 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
