Committee Rep., Shannon Fratto, Abutter, Jamie Maughan, Cons. Committee Rep. Guest: Bob Hunt, RUSC G. Gresh called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM. J. Bonazoli made a motion to accept the minutes of the July 23rd committee meeting. C. Caruso seconded the motion. Motion Passes in favor of accepting the minutes of July 23rd: 5-0-0. J. Motion Passes in favor of accepting the minutes of July 30th: 5-0-0 The committee discussed the surveys that Mary Ann Kozlowski put together. There would be two surveys available; one general survey and one teen survey soliciting input in regards to Birch Meadow. The committee discussed options for distribution. G. Gresh mentioned that he went ahead and had it placed in the Recreation Magazine for the Fall. Due to the deadline for the Recreation Division, the Committee was not able to make any changes for the Fall Magazine, however, Chris Caruso would also make the survey available on-line at the Town Website. C. Caruso said he would contact the Assistant Town Manager to make arrangement. S. Fratto stated she would contact the two leadership groups she works with at the High School and ask them to distribute the surveys. M. Kozlowski recommended putting the survey link on edline as well. Jamie Maughan entered the meeting at 7:24 PM. The committee decided that surveys will be due back on Sept 21St , 2007 and then tabulated. The committee discussed the recommendations they had made at the previous meeting on July 30ti' G. Gresh felt that the committee really needed the input of the community before major decisions could be made. The committee decided to invite GIS expert, Kim Honetschlegler to the next meeting to help with feasibility of ideas such as reconfiguring the softball fields and reshaping Castine field. J. Feudo stated he would talk with Kim and get back to Gary about her availability. Other items discussed included: • Whether there was water and sewer available for a possible Recreation Center at the end of Bancroft Ave for tie in. • Repositioning the Batting Cage • Adding a Snack shack with appropriate storage and bathrooms • Possibly moving the tennis courts closer to the Tot Lot to create a larger area to work with next to Morton Field. The next meeting is scheduled for August 27th at 7:00 PM. J. Feudo will secure a location. J. Maughan made a motion to adjourn the meeting. C. Caruso seconded the motion.
